Rabat - Moroccan security services on Friday dismantled a three-member terror cell linked to the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in the city of Nador (north-east), the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The members of this cell received instructions from ISIS leaders for the establishment of an emirate in the north of the Kingdom, in charge of planning suicide car bombs against institutions in the Kingdom with the logistical support of the terrorist organization, the ministry added.
They also intended to target "a sensitive site" in the city of Nador as part of their terrorist project, the source pointed out.
The arrested individuals will be brought to justice by the end of the investigations made under the supervision of the competent prosecutor.
The Ministry said the dismantling of this cell is part of Morocco’s proactive efforts to face terrorist threats.
