Grey Book of terrorism in the heart of Moroccan-European security cooperation"

Rabat – Morocco and Belgium discussed, Monday in Rabat, means to boost cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism.

This came in a meeting between Moroccan minister delegate to the Interior, Cherki Drais, and a delegation of Moroccan-Belgian parliamentary friendship group, led by Belgian MP Andre Frederic.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss collaboration in the fight against terrorism, which constitutes a "major concern" for both countries, and to assess cooperation between the two countries, Frederic told the press after the meeting.

Through this visit, the Belgian delegation intends to meet with Moroccan ministers and parliamentarians to "take stock of our common concerns to maintain a democratic functioning of our respective States," he said, highlighting the common will to uphold the friendly relations between Moroccans and Belgians.

During this meeting, Drais recalled the reforms initiated under the leadership of King Mohammed VI in various fields.

He also highlighted Morocco's political process, notably the 2011 constitutional reform and the last elections in 2016, underlining efforts made in fighting poverty and insecurity, particularly through the large-scale anti-poverty project National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).
