Rabat - King Mohammed VI is taking part this Monday in Paris the 21st conference of parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on climate changes (COP21), announced the Ministry of Royal household, protocol and chancellery.
However, the release goes on, as the Sovereign is still affected by voice loss, HM the King entrusted HRH Prince Moulay Rachid to read out the speech in this inaugural session. The speech will be read out in the presence of the King, the release says.
More than 150 heads of state and government take part in this conference to reach a balanced, ambitious and binding agreement in order to ensure a better future for the planet.
This conference, chaired this year by France, aims at getting states to agree on a new international climate agreement, applicable to all countries to keep global warming below 2 C. COP 22 will be held in 2016 in Marrakech.
