Rabat - Delegate Minister to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mbarka Bouaida held, here Wednesday, talks with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Thomas Shannon.
This meeting was an opportunity to continue the discussions launched in Washington and prepare for the forthcoming Morocco-USA Strategic Dialogue, Shannon told the press following the talks.
The US official praised the excellent partnership relations between the United States and Morocco in various fields, adding that these "historic and future-oriented relations that have managed to adapt to the political changes in the interest of both countries and peoples."
Discussions also focused on security and development issues, the US official said.
"It was an opportunity to continue the dialogue already launched a long time ago and to prepare for the next session of strategic dialogue," Bouaida said.
"We have a very rich bilateral agenda with the United States," she said, adding that this agenda covers a wide range of issues, including economic, cultural, security and political issues.
The US State Under Secretary for Political Affairs will also visit Tunisia, Algeria, Burkina Faso and Mali as part of a tour that will end on February 25 , the US Embassy to the Kingdom said in a statement.
